About Me
Lluis Altimires celebrating after winning a match.
I currently am the Men and Women Tennis Team's Assistant Coach at Northwest Missouri State University, and also an international student from Barcelona, Spain. I decided to come to college in the US to pursue my college degree 6 years ago as well as play college tennis. Coming to the US has given me the opportunity to keep competing with tennis and also to earn my bachelor’s degree in Marketing, and now the MBA. Family is a very big part of my life. They have supported my decisions and dreams of coming to America to play tennis and continue my education because they knew how much it meant for me.
Being a student-athlete has taught me very valuable skills. I am in my last year of Graduate School and have already graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Business Marketing. I knew it would be tougher for me because as a student-athlete sometimes it was hard to keep up with all the work and the tennis season, but that helped me develop my organizational skills in order to balance my schedule between practices, road trips and classes. During these years have gained some life skills such as organization, communication skills, and discipline. As an athlete I have had many responsibilities on and off the court. I was not just representing myself, but also Northwest Missouri State University.
Tennis has given me the opportunity to travel and meet people from all around the world and get know different cultures. Being away from home can be tough sometimes, but it has made me stronger and I have acquired more knowledge and experience that I could have ever imagined. Thanks to all the traveling I have done, I have also become a very open-minded person and I tend to easily adapt myself to changes.
I am a very passionate athlete and I give my positive energy to my teammates, now players, even in the toughest moments. I try to motivate them before, during and after every practice or match. There is a quote that gsaid by Chuck Noll, former professional American football player, assistant coach and head coach,
"Champions don't do extraordinary things, they do the ordinary things better than anyone".
I'm a very self-driven person that loves a challenge. Each challenge that I have experienced in tennis, school and life have prepared me and given me many skills needed to be successful at workplace. I look forward to working for a passionate company.
If you're looking to hire someone who is dedicated to what they do and wants to achieve the best results, or think I would fit in great at your business, office, or agency, you should CONTACT ME!
